Liberty Reconnected

How do you reconnect a city to its greatest open space?

Liberty State Park, the crown jewel of New Jersey’s park system, lacks basic transit access for people who do not drive—including including the 37% of Jersey City residents who do not own a car. I led final design and narrative strategy for a plan to tackle these issues with new circulator bus routes, separated high-speed bikeways, and gateways with coherent wayfinding elements.

My team focused on communicating solutions to the public in ways that ground them in the historical identity of the park as a major transportation gateway, while also offering a practical flip-book of strategies to guide public professionals in further stages of design.
