For Arup and Foster + Partners’ successful bid to design the nation’s first four high-speed rail stations in California’s Central Valley, I led initial community, cultural, and historical analysis of the urban context of the stations to shift our team’s focus from the designs of individual structures to the wider impact of the stations on surrounding communities. This allowed us to craft a project approach and presentation that spoke to the deeper risks of the project and the client’s longer-term goals of transforming California.

After being awarded the $70M contract, our client remarked, “thank you for making my job easy.”
